Brand/Title Description

An ambitious art editor is required to work across two of Haymarket’s leading business to business brands – Planning and Horticulture Week.

The successful applicant must be brimming with ideas to meet the creative needs of a highly diverse portfolio of print and web-based products and able to cope with a demanding workload. That means working at speed – but without sacrificing our high editorial and design standards.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a graphics related discipline and with experience of working on other B2B web and print brands, the successful applicant must be a great organiser, a strong team player and an effective communicator, able to work creatively with a wide range of writers, editors and production staff across our brands.

Existing knowledge of the brands’ subject matter is not important, but an ability to engage with it intelligently and with enthusiasm is essential.

The art editor will help shape the creative direction of our brands and ensure our content is as visually engaging as it can be. Duties include magazine layout (from templates and from scratch), creating new designs for supplements, creating a variety of artwork for online content, commissioning top-quality photography and illustrations cost-effectively, maintaining photographic and illustrative resources, managing freelance designers, etc. Applicants must know Adobe Creative Suite.

A part-time role covering either of the magazines could be considered.
