PrintWeek, one of the biggest weeklies in the Haymarket Media business stable, is looking for an experienced news writer to join the magazine's five-strong news desk.

Knowledge of the printing industry is not essential, but a desire to learn about this £14.3bn sector is. However, the key element of the role is, unsurprisingly, writing news. You will have responsibility to generate off-diary news stories, create an impressive contact base in the industry and manage a number of sector-specific news bulletins. This role represents an ideal opportunity for an ambitious journalist with a couple of years experience looking to advance their career on a well established and successful B2B magazine.

Person Specification

You'll need the confidence and versatility to interview executives from global giants such as HP and Xerox, not to mention to business leaders from the industry’s coalface. You'll also need plenty of energy and a valid passport as our writers often have to spend time out of the office, often abroad, attending trade shows (where we frequently produce dedicated ‘daily newspapers’) and press conferences.

We’re looking for someone with at least two years B2B news writing experience, who can turn their hand to technical and business writing with equal aplomb and who is prepared to establish a reputation as someone in the know. As part of the role you will also be expected to generate ideas for and write features and in-depth analysis articles on a regular basis.

The UK magazine is staffed by a dynamic editorial team of 12 and as well as a weekly magazine boasts a website that generates 100,000 unique users and close to 1m page impressions every month.
