There is a vacancy for the law and governance reporter on Third Sector, the leading magazine and website for charities and voluntary organizations. The profile of charities in national life has never been higher, the context in which they operate is changing, and the rules that govern them are under scrutiny. Are charities too political? Should their trustees be paid? Should they pay to be regulated? We need a journalist on our 11-strong team who can follow, analyse and interpret questions such as these. This is a pivotal role on a market-leading, highly respected brand in Haymarket Business Media.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

• be a trained journalist with experience on newspapers or magazines
• have a proven interest in and understanding of politics and social policy in general and the affairs of charities and voluntary organizations in particular
• have a clear track record in finding and developing stories and writing both news and analysis in a clear and accessible style
• enjoy working in a team at a fast pace
• have some experience in using website content management systems, Twitter and other social media.
