Printweek, one ofthe biggest weeklies in the Haymarket Media business stable, is looking for atalented news writer to join the magazine's five-strong news desk.
Person Specification
Knowledge of the printing industry is not essential, but adesire to learn about this £14.3bn sector is. However, the key element of therole is, unsurprisingly, writing news. You will have responsibility to generateoff-diary news stories, create an impressive contact base in the industry andmanage a number of sector-specific news bulletins. This role represents anideal opportunity for an ambitious journalist looking to advance their careeron a well established and successful B2B magazine.
You'll need the confidence and versatility to interview executives from globalgiants such as HP and Xerox, not to mention to business leaders from theindustry’s coalface. You'll also need plenty of energy and a valid passport asour writers often have to spend time out of the office, often abroad, attendingtrade shows (where we frequently produce dedicated ‘daily newspapers’) andpress conferences.
Ideally we’re looking for someone with B2B news writing experience, who canturn their hand to technical and business writing with equal aplomb and who isprepared to establish a reputation as someone in the know. As part of the roleyou will also be expected to generate ideas for and write features and in-depthanalysis articles on a regular basis.
PrintWeek is one of the flagship titles of Haymarket’s Business Mediagroup and has five international sister titles, many of which regularlyrepublish our agenda setting content. The UK magazine is staffed by a dynamiceditorial team of 12 and as well as a weekly magazine boasts a website thatgenerates 100,000 unique users and close to 1m page impressions every month.
