A new role has been created to lead the sales for Haymarket Media’s latest addition to its already impressive brand portfolio.
Haymarket Media is looking to recruit a high performance sales manager to lead and drive revenues for the UK’s biggest HR brand, People Management as well as manage the leading charity jobs brand, Third Sector Jobs.

Responsible for 3 sales teams, totalling 14 sales people, including 2 managers; and  generating revenues running into several million pounds we are looking for an experienced senior sales manager to take these leading brands into their next phase of accelerated success.

Your primary role will have commercial responsibility for display and recruitment revenues for the People Management brand, including the monthly publication, PM, circulated to 132,000 HR professionals, the market leading HR website  www.peoplemanagement.co.uk and the top ranking HR jobsite PMJobs .

In addition to running the People Management commercial team you will also have the added responsibility of leading the professional charity jobsite, ThirdSectorJobs

You will work within the largest sales divisions within Haymarket and be a key sales leader within the largest B2B specialist Jobs group in the UK. The Haymarket Recruitment Group has 15 jobsites and 13 print brands commanding revenues across a wide portfolio of specialist sectors including, marketing, PR, media and the energy and environment to name but a few.

Person Specification

Core Responsibilities

As a senior member of the management team you will be heavily involved in the strategy and direction of your brands however you will also have strong input into the rest of the group’s overall direction in terms of sales, training and growth plans.
Your role will be varied and challenging as well as offering you exciting opportunities to spot and develop your own ideas into real deliverables. As you would expect in a role at this level there are plenty of areas for you to make your mark,  however to summarise, your key responsibilities will include:

Managing your team and your brands to the highest standard.
Development of your print and digital products.
Monitoring of market shares and yields across your brand and competitors.
Forecasting of weekly and monthly revenue, volume and yields.
People management (including recruitment, training and development).
Taking a leading role in selling to major/key clients.
New product development and exploration of business growth across the brands
Initiate promotional campaigns and material across print and online.
Producing sales plans for each of your brands that are up to date and follow relevant KPI’s.

As the senior sales manager you are expected to lead, motivate and inspire your team to maximise the revenue opportunities across your products in both print and online.


Skills and experience required

Candidates will need to have a minimum of 6 years working in media sales and a proven track record in building sales teams and exceeding targets. Ideally you will have a strong background in selling digital recruitment or you will be an exceptional display sales manager looking to grow your career.

The qualities we're looking for in a Senior Sales Manager include:
• Previous experience managing  large sales teams
• Selling recruitment online, ideally in a B2B specialist sector
• Experience selling digital packages in display including lead generation initiatives, webinars and high level sponsorship deals.
• Exceptional presentation skills
• Great interpersonal attitude for engaging clients and managing your team
• Able to use own initiative
• Ability to plan and forecast performance
• Experience in writing and delivering sales plans
• An ability to understand a market and create new ideas to maximise revenue potential
