Brand/Title Description
Haymarket Creative Solutions is a dynamic in-house creative agency that helps brands promote their products and services through market-leading Haymarket brands, including Stuff, What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, FourFourTwo, What Car?, Autocar and Autosport.
We’re looking for a talented editor to write, commission, present and edit engaging content about the latest gadgets, home entertainment kit, sportswear and cars for a long list of high- profile clients.
The successful candidate will need to carefully balance the clients’ advertising goals with the editorial independence and integrity of the host brand. They will also need to balance their creativity with a realistic, cost-effective and time-efficient approach to client briefs.
The editor will work alongside the art editor, video editor and commercial team to actively pitch for new work, as well as deliver on exiting briefs. They will also liaise closely with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget. In addition, they will on occasion be expected to speak directly with clients to develop briefs, clarify strategic goals and achieve final project sign-off.
The department’s workload is diverse and the editor will be required to work across multiple brands and platforms, including print, digital, video, iPad and live events. As such, this is not a traditional magazine or website editor role, and previous creative solutions, customer publishing and/or copywriting experience is preferred.
The success of the department depends on long-term client satisfaction. To achieve this, the editor must always strive to deliver genuinely creative solutions to sometimes challenging client briefs, while also capitalising on Haymarket’s consumer media brands.
