Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a BI Developer to join the Data Strategy & Analytics team. This position is located in our New York, NY office.

 

Job Overview:

The BI Developer will be responsible for partnering with business and analytic teams to provide guidance and deliver reporting and analytic needs. He/she will build queries, reports, dashboards and visualizations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience using Microsoft PowerBI and deep knowledge of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. He/she will work to evolve reporting into actionable insights and recommendations. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a strategic partner with Haymarket business units to support new insights and reveal opportunities 
  • Translate business requirements into reporting / dashboard / visualization designs
  • Build out capabilities in data reporting, analytics, data governance, data analysis, data quality and metrics dashboards in the customer, advertiser and editorial performance areas.
  • Design and build out a consistent approach and tooling for data analytics, and reporting.
  • Train and educate staff at all levels of skills and expertise on how to best leverage the tools
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to grow the data and analytics discipline for each business unit.  

 

Skills and Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an expert on analytical platforms (specifically GA 360), Google Tag Manager, Google Cloud, and Business Intelligence. Must be enthusiastic about learning new platforms / tools.

  • Google Analytics, preferably 360 (need Premium). 
  • At least 4 years, current, hands-on experience. MUST have done implementation
  • GAIQ certification a plus
  • Google Tag Manager (GTM), preferably 360
  • At least 2 years, current, hands-on experience. MUST have done a GA implementation using GTM
  • Strong command of JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience using the data layer objects
  • SQL mastery
  • 2+ years continuous, hands-on experience with SQL (preferably SQL Server). Certification a plus
  • BI Tools
  • Strong skills in PowerBI. Looker or Tableau a plus
  • Strong skills in Excel, including functions. 
  • Reporting and Communications
  • Demonstrated Experience with creating reporting, requirements gathering, project management, excellent likeability, and speaking skills. Must form clear, actionable, and democratic statements.
  • Proven ability to drive insights
  • BA/BS Degree
  • 4+ years Data Analytics experience
  • 4+ years SQL
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills, perseverance and patience
  • Ability to multitask, juggle priorities and tackle urgent work when needed
  • Solid knowledge of data models
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and thorough work
  • Top-notch written and verbal skills
  • A willingness and ability to “dive right in”, self-learn, be effective, and make a difference.
  • Strong analytics experience; building reports and dashboards and very strong SQL.
