PRI is looking for a talented Scientific Director to join our growing team. We have offices based in Paramus, NJ and New York City. 

Job Overview:
The Scientific Director (SD) is responsible for developing medical communications materials for our pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients as well as providing scientific expertise for assigned projects. This includes original content development, faculty and client support, and collaboration with other content developers, thought leaders, account team members, and clients. The SD will be responsible for the quality, integrity, scientific and medical accuracy, and timeliness of assigned projects.

This position reports to the Senior Scientific Director.

Responsibilities:
• Develop original clinical content (monographs, newsletters, slide decks, etc) across multiple delivery platforms―print, live, and digital (web, tablet, and mobile)―in accordance with established budgets, timelines, and strategic objectives.
• Repurpose client-supplied materials for use in custom promotional and educational programs for healthcare professionals.
• Assess clinical accuracy of all content through careful review of source materials, including medical and scientific journals.
• Take the lead on calls with clients to kick-off projects and review project status.
• Prepare for and participate in medical/legal/regulatory reviews as needed.
• Identify thought leaders, authors, and other expert sources for custom projects
• Develop content for, attend, and participate in off-site programs (eg, advisory boards, content development meetings) outside of normal working hours and on weekends on an as needed basis.
• Develop effective, collaborative working relationships with team members, clients, faculty, and vendors.
• Mentor Associate Scientific Directors as needed
• Manage freelance writers and fact checkers

Skills and Requirements:
• At least 2 years’ experience in a promotional or med ed agency working with clients in marketing or medical affairs 
• Experience in medical content development (monographs, newsletters, slide decks, etc) across multiple delivery platforms (print, digital, and live programs) within an organization serving pharmaceutical clients.
• Experience in a few therapeutic areas with the ability to quickly come up to speed in new therapeutic areas.
• Experience in interpreting clinical data with an ability to communicate an understanding of that data both verbally and in writing.
• Experience in preparing for medical/legal/regulatory reviews, including document submission into multiple client-specific portals.
• Ability to work concurrently on several complex projects, meet aggressive deadlines, and adjust priorities rapidly as a situation demands.
• Careful attention to detail, especially with regard to the accuracy of data and other scientific content.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment to move projects from inception to completion.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills.
• PhD or clinical or professional degree such as medicine, pharmacy, or nursing 
• Travel up to 20% of the time, may include international travel
