Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientific Director to join the PRI Healthcare Solutions team. This position is located in our Paramus, NJ office.

Job Overview:
The Senior Scientific Director (SSD) is responsible for driving the scientific strategy across their assigned account (s) as well as supervising a team of Scientific Directors and/or Associate Scientific Directors in the development of promotional medical education programs for our pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. 

The SSD must demonstrate a high level of comfort articulating strategic direction and tactical recommendations. This is a client-facing position and being seen as a valued client partner is critical to this role. 

This position reports to the General Manager.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate in-depth understanding of both the therapeutic area assigned (inclusive of treatment paradigm and competitive landscape); knowledge of neuroscience KOLs and the market is strongly preferred
  • Lead and actively participate in strategic discussions with clients
  • Strong ability to interpret data and translate into audience appropriate materials for pre- to post-launch products
  • Ensure the quality, scientific and medical accuracy and integrity, and timeliness of work developed by assigned staff
  • Assume individual responsibility for clinical content development as needed 
  • Develop effective collaborative working relationships with internal (account, editorial, creative, digital marketing) teams, clients, faculty, and vendors
  • Work collaboratively with the VP of Business Development & Marketing Strategy and other senior management on new business pitches
  • Participate in off-site programs (e.g., advisory boards, content development meetings, speaker training) and prepare a range of meeting summaries as dictated
  • Mentor and supervise direct reports; foster an environment for development and growth
  • Routinely assess procedures, protocols, and content development workflow in order to enhance existing procedures and guidelines while ensuring the highest possible quality of programs.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in the promotional medical education industry
  • Preferred: An advanced degree in science or public health (preferably PharmD, PhD, MD, or MPH), experience or degree in neurosciences a plus
  • Proven experience as the scientific lead on accounts and working in high-volume environment with skill and speed while maintaining the highest quality
  • High degree of independence and sound strategic instincts regarding healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing is required
  • Demonstrate current knowledge of and excellent communication skills on medical and industry issues
